Nars Turkish Delight

After lusting after a long wearing pale pink gloss to pair with MAC Angel for quite a long time (No 7 lip gloss just wasn't making the cut). The cult favourite of Nars' Turkish Delight also happens to be Kim Kardashian's lipgloss of choice, along with my purchase of MAC's Angel, this seems to be a trend of mine. Well if it's good enough for Kimmie..

On the lips, this shade is a very flattering pale, milky pink colour. The fluffy doe-foot applicator distributes just the right amount of product onto your lips, however you do need to be careful whilst applying to bare lips, as if you apply without pursing your lips, it may settle into the creases of your lips. Applying on top of lipstick is a dream, the formula is completely non-sticky and creamy. Although the taste isn't particularly anything to write home about, the longevity of this lip gloss marks this lip gloss on holy-grail territory.

I love pairing this with the other Kim Kardashian favourite, Mac's Angel.

Umberto Giannini Glam Hair Backcomb In A Bottle

Backcomb In A Bottle is hairspray-like spray that can create the effect of backcombing without the single swipe of a teasing comb.
Umberto Giannini describe the product as "the must-have product to achieve full on glamour and up-dos without wrecking your hair with backcombing.' It is also said to 'provide instant miracle volume and sexy texture'.

With a description as intriguing as this, I couldn't wait to give this a try. I purchased this quite a while ago as part as a 3 for 2 offer in Boots, along with two other Umberto Giannini products. (Flirty Curls Scrunching Jelly and Smoothy Curls Anti-Frizz Serum, in case you were wondering). The 200ml bottle retails at £5.61 in Boots stores, prices may vary in other stockists. You can also purchase mini cans of this, which I received in a Christmas gift set.

I don't regularly backcomb my hair but I noticed that as my hair grows longer, it tends to look flatter -this is where this product sprung to my mind. I can't even remember trying this more than once after purchasing it, it seemed to get pushed aside to sit unloved in my drawer.

I believe that this product had quite a big hype surrounding it back at the time of it's release, however unfortunately I was really disappointed with it. I found it didn't give me any volume at all and just made my hair look full of product as fell ridiculously hard to touch. Once I buy a product and find that it doesn't really work for me, as I spent money on that product I like to keep   perseveringwith it, to see if I can make it work. However, this just really does not work for me at all. I lifted up the top part of my hair and sprayed it in lightly as directed, then put the layer of hair down and scrunched it upwards with my fingers. My hair felt stiff, crunchy, heavy, full of product and worst of all- it still looked just as flat as it did before, if not flatter. The area that it had been applied to also felt extremely matted and knotted.
Overall, this product is a big dissappointment for me and it will forever be collecting dust at the back of my drawer.

Avon Advance Techniques: Moroccan Argan Oil

Previously being an Avon representative, I have had the pleasure of trying out quite a lot of the products in the past. However, I had never tried any of their hair care products. I recently purchased this along with the matching Moroccan Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner- which I love!

As Moroccan oil is such a cult favourite product, I was dying to try this out as the only other experience I have had with hair oils is the one I have been on the ends of my hair, VO5 Miracle Concentrate, which I also enjoy using. As Moroccan oil is quite expensive, I was looking forward to seeing how this cheaper alternative compares.

I absolutely love what this product does to my hair. After washing my hair, I run a pump or two throughout all of my hair whilst it is still damp. If you have fine hair I would say to just use one pump but as my hair is quite thick and dry it doesn't get oily easily. As this is an oil I was expecting it to weigh my hair down and leave it looking oily. I was very wrong! This left my hair looking the healthiest that it has ever looked, smooth and silky with minimum frizz. All this and at £2.99 a pop what is not to love?! I will definitely be repurchasing this little beauty.

Nspa Melting Cleansing Gel

N-spa Beauty Rituals is a range of luxurious facial products that let you have the Nirvana Spa experience from the comfort of your own home. The range is available at Asda stores nationwide and the prices range from £2.50 to £6.00.
On a visit to Asda, my mother discovered the display of nspa products and very kindly treated me to the Melting Cleansing Gel and Hot Cloth Cleanser to try. (The Hot Cloth Cleanser is very comparable to Liz Earle's Cleanse & Polish- review coming soon)

The Nspa Melting Cleansing Gel retails at £5.00 at Asda stores and is by far the best cleanser I've tried. Admittedly, it took me a while to get used to using this product. For many years I've been using Liz Earle's Cleanse & Polish, which is a completely different type of cleanser to this, so it was quite a change in consistency for me. Despite it feeling quite strange at first, after a few uses of this, I discovered that I actually really like it.

To use this product you squeeze some of the product onto your fingers (around the size of a 20 pence piece) and apply it all over your skin whilst it is dry. When rubbing the product all over my skin, it felt as if I was rubbing some sort of oil onto my skin- strange at first but it feels so luxurious as if you're having a mini-facial at home. Once you have massaged the product onto your skin, you then wet your hands with warm water and massage your skin again until the gel has turned into a soft milk. You then rinse well with warm water.
Although it may sound like it has a lot of steps, it is surprisingly really quick to do once you get used to it.

I absolutely adore the way this product makes my skin feel. After use my skin feels silky soft and I am sure it has helped my current break out. The product is packed with moisturising ingredients such as Ginseng and Vitamin E, as well as 'skin-enhancing Grapeseed Oil and essential oil of Neroli'. It also states on the back that it glides effortlessly without dragging the skin, I agree with this statement as it feels very gentle on the skin and extremely nourishing. The cleanser is suitable for all skin types even sensitive skin. I have quite sensitive skin myself and I feel that this is gentle enough to use everyday.

VIVO Baked Blush in Rosy

VIVO is a cosmetics brand that claims to deliver 'solutions to your handbag to bring that touch of colour and style whilst giving you the performance you need." The selection of cosmetics ranges from baked blushes and bronzers to BB creams. The range is sold exclusively in Tesco stores and is also available on their website here.

I've heard quite a lot about their baked blushes quite a while ago but I haven't heard many mentions of the rest of the range in a long time. As I was in need of a new pink blush, I decided to pop down to Tesco to give VIVO a try..

The baked formula of the blushes remind me of MAC's Mineralize Skin Finishes minus the expensive price tag. On my visit to Tesco, I found that there was three shades of the baked blushes. Although, on the website there does appear to be more. Originally, I was after the shade 'Peaches and Cream' which true to name is a peachy blush. However, I wanted a pink blush so I went for 'Rosy'.

The marbled effect of different shades of pink creates a gorgeous flush of colour on the cheeks. As you swirl your brush around the pan, it mixes together to create a light shade of pink. I've been told that it is a similar shade to MAC's  best seller blush, 'Well Dressed'. But unfortunately, I do not own it to give a comment on the possible dupe.

The blush is perfectly pigmented. Only a light swirl of your brush is enough to create a lovely, natural-looking flush to the cheeks. This blush is a potential holy-grail contender. Currently, it has managed to knock my top blushes- Nars 'Orgasm' and Benefit 'Coralista', off my daily make-up routine. I love the healthy-looking glow this gives my face and for only £4, I will definitely have to repurchase.

e.l.f lipsticks- 'Flirtatious' and 'Nostalgic'

-Left; 'Nostalgic' right; 'Flirtatious'-

Eyes Lips Face, also known as e.l.f, is an international cosmetics brand that sells products largely at £2, £4 and £5 price points. The brand includes skin-care products, mineral-based make-up, professional tools, lipstick, glosses, blushes, among many others. According to the company, their products are 100% "cruelty-free", and they fully support PETA's no fur campaign.

Their cruelty-free products, support for PETA and bargain prices made me extremely excited to try out this brand. When I was about 14/15, I purchased an e.l.f mineral powder foundation which I can remember enjoying, but since then I haven't been convinced into ordering more. The only thing that really put me off with e.l.f was that I couldn't have the products physically in front of me to swatch, so I was wary of how true to real life the swatches were etc. After some thought I decided to purchase four lipsticks- two from the permanent collection, one studio matte colour and one mineral lipstick. I researched swatches of all the shades before choosing them and awaited my parcel. -note: I will be reviewing the other lipsticks at a later date.-

Two of the lipsticks that I chose from the permanent collection were; 'Nostalgic' and 'Flirtatious'. 'Nostalgia' is a beige/pink nude, although I don't really suit nude lipstick, I'm still on the look out for one that I like, so I thought at £1.50, it's worth a try. 'Flirtatious' is a hot pink shade, on first glance it kind of reminded me of MAC's Viva Glam Nicki.

-Left 'Nostalgic' Right 'Flirtatious'-

Left 'Flirtatious' Right 'Nostalgic'

First off I really do not like these lipsticks at all. The formula is way too creamy that it creates a streaky mess on your lips. The formula looks fine when swatched but on your lips, it's a completely different story. When you apply them they look okay (not too fussed on the shades though to be honest), but when you rub your lips together they slide about your lips so streaks are created everywhere. I feel as if they would slide off my lips and transfer onto everything so easily if I wear them. I've read quite a lot of good reviews about these lipsticks but I am definitely not convinced. As far as I am concerned, I will be giving up a few more pounds for a much better quality lipstick from Boots.

MAC Angel lipstick

-photo taken with flash-
There's a lot of hype around MAC lipsticks. Personally, I love them. I think the colour range is amazing and every lipstick that I have treated myself to has been really good quality. The favourite shade of MAC's that I own is Angel.

Angel is a frost finish which I was a bit sceptical of at first as I have heard that frost lipsticks aren't the best of MAC's but I adore the colour so I decided to give it a go. Being a huge Kardasian fan, the fact that it is Kim Kardashian's favourite lipstick didn't persuade me either, I promise.

The shade is described as a 'soft pink' on the MAC website. The thing I like most about this lipstick is that it isn't nude, as I don't think nude lipsticks suit me at all. But neither is it pink, it's a muted light pink that doesn't make me look ghostly. It's pink enough not to be a pale nude, but nude enough to use it as an everyday lipstick.

Here is a swatch-

I really like wearing this on it's own or wearing it with No7 lipgloss in 'Happy', mentioned here.

MAC Angel on it's own

MAC Angel with No7 High Shine lipgloss in 'Happy'
Overall, this is my favourite pale pink lipstick in my ever growing collection. There will definitely be a repurchase on the cards after this is used up as I have been using it almost everyday since I purchased it.

The Little Bubble CO Vanilla Biscuit bath & shower gel

The Little Bubble CO range is exclusively sold at Boots stores. They describe themselves as "A very randomly lovely brand of bath and body treats". Their 'mission' is to "work hard to make bathrooms 100% more bubbly." They describes their products as "delicious scents, creamy skin-softening bubbles and bumper 500ml bottles make our products utterly delightful to use. Suitable for the whole family, our paraben-free formulations are scented with allergen-free fragrances, to make your skin smile." I can honestly say that I 100% agree with their statements. I don't think I have ever enjoyed using up a bubble bath & shower gel as much as I have with this little beauty;

First off, the main thing that sticks out of this product for me is the scent. It is the most gorgeous scent ever. It is so sweet and just amazing, it's one of those scents that you can remember just by thinking of the product. Aside from the amazing smell, the product itself is absolutely amazing. It foams amazingly just from a tiny bit and leaves your skin feeling super-soft and lovely for ages. I adore using this in the bath and the shower. This is my second bottle and I can honestly say that I don't think I will be buying any other shower gel/bubble bath ever again.

At the bargain price of £2.99 for a 500ml bottle, you really cannot go wrong. The other scents that I have spotted but are yet to try are 'Strawberry Sundae' and 'Coconut Creme'. All at £2.99 a bottle! I will definitely be trying out the other scents to see if they can compare to my all time favourite! The first time I tried this shower gel, my boyfriend kindly treated me to it. After we got home and he smelt it, I discovered it in his bathroom and I didn't get to use any of it because he ended up loving it. "It just smells SO GOOD!" he said, he ended up buying me two more bottles just so he could keep mine. I've also spotted my brothers having a sneaky sniff of this and they were very impressed.

This is now my holy grail shower gel and bubble bath. With the price, quality and scent of this product, I think it would be very hard to find one I like better. I really hope that they expand their line of products and create body butters to match every scent.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm stain in 'Lovesick'

I know that I'm pretty late on the band wagon with this little beauty but with me being a little sceptical of lip stains after not enjoying them in the past, I decided to do a lot of research (blog reading) before purchasing one. After the likes of Essiebutton and Fleur de force raving about them I decided to pick up one at my next trip to Boots.

After a swatching session I decided to pick up the shade 'Lovesick'. It was inevitable really as it was the shade I had been lusting over after seeing swatches online and being obsessed with pink lips it was my favourite shade out of the bunch.

As I said earlier, I haven't had the best experience with lip stains in the past. A couple of months back I bought two lip marker stains (one by Max Factor and the other Maybelline, I believe) and I just hated them. They clung to any dry patches- I don't even have dry lips. But what was worse is that they completely fade off the lips but stick in a line around where your inside and outside of your lips meet. They looked absolutely awful. I also tried another Maybelline stain- 'Super stay 10hr tint gloss', which actually had pretty good reviews so naturally, I picked one up to try. Unfortunately I found the same thing that happened with the other stains- boo.

Anyway onto the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm stains- AMAZING. I love it. It glides on your lips like a dream, I would say that the balm overlay lasts about 2-3 hours if you're eating/drinking. But the stain (which wasn't at all drying or clingy by the way!!) lasts for hours. I put it on at 3pm and by the time I was going to bed at 1am it was still standing strong! The colour is beautiful as well. I think I might purchase the red toned shade as I find a red lip easier to wear in tint form rather than lipstick, personally. They are so simple to apply, I found myself not needed a mirror.

Here is the balm stain in 'Lovesick' after just being applied:
note- please excuse the ridiculously messy hair.

Overall, I absolutely adore the way these last, feel and look on the lips and I think I will definitely be purchasing a few more shades. The only downfall in my eyes is the lack of shades, I believe the US get 12 shades but the UK only have 7 out of the 12 shades.
